First audition? Fiftieth show? Come as you are. We’re building a cast that brings this beloved story to life with energy, kindness, and a whole lot of heart.
Our Christ-centered theater community values the person behind every performance. We’ll guide you through each part of the audition.

Sing a little.
Prepare 45 to 60 seconds of a musical theater song that shows your voice and personality. Bring an instrumental track on your phone.

Tell a story.
You’ll read a short scene provided at the audition. No memorization needed, just a willingness to try something new.

Make a move.
Learn a short dance combination with the group. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes you can move in. We’ll teach you the steps!

After you register, please submit your headshot or a clear selfie here. If you have trouble, email your name and a headshot or clear selfie to hello@redeemingarts.org. No professional headshot needed, and a résumé is optional. Please arrive 15 minutes early and plan to spend up to 2 to 3 hours with us.

A little clarity can make that first step easier.
How long will my audition take?
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time and plan to spend up to 2 to 3 hours with us for singing, reading, and group movement. You may finish in as little as an hour, depending on how auditions are running.
Do I need theater experience?
No! Performers of all experience levels are welcome. Bring enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
Can I audition for a specific role?
Yes. Share your preferred roles when you register. Our team will consider you for the roles that best fit the whole production; a preference does not guarantee casting.
Is there a cost to participating in this production?
Auditioning is free! If cast, we ask for a contribution of $65 per participant or $150 per family, with installments available.
This production is powered entirely by volunteers—everyone is donating their time and talents! Your contribution helps cover the cost of sets, costumes, lighting, props, and more.
We don’t want financial hardship to prevent anyone from participating. If this contribution would be a challenge, please let us know on your registration form, and we’ll do our best to work with you!
When and where will rehearsals and performances be?

Rehearsals will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm-9pm at South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield beginning in November. (Not everyone will be called to every rehearsal.)

Tech week will be the entire week of February 22-25.

Performances will be on Friday, February 26 at 7pm, Saturday, February 27 at 2pm and 7pm, and Sunday, February 28 at 2pm.
Where will the final production take place?
We are excited to announce that we have booked the Historic Fox Theatre in Springfield, MO!
What if I need to cancel my audition?
Please use the cancellation link in your confirmation email as soon as possible so another performer can take your time slot.
